It’s Saturday morning and I’m sitting surrounded by my plants, drinking a bottle of berry Huel – liquid brunch – and considering, dreaming up, where Sober Galaxy can be by the end of summer.
And I think it makes sense to jot down some of these goals.
So, here are 3 things I’d like to achieve this year:
- A Sober Galaxy App:
My day job is as an app developer, so it makes full sense that there should be an app for the community. An app that contains tools, resources, chat features and more. I really want to use tech to help people to live a better life sober, and there are few better tech experiences than a lovely app. It’s something I’ve already started developing, and I can’t wait to launch it. Remember, Sober Galaxy is for people like you – so if there are things you’d find useful on the app, make sure you get in touch and let me know.
- An online chat community
So, this might well become the cornerstone of Sober Galaxy. A safe online chat community where you can ask questions, share your stories and experiences, and support others. A social space for sober people – and for people who are curious about experiencing more things without booze. This feature will be added to the site very soon. Please keep an eye out on Instagram and on here for when it’s released, and if it’s something that will help you, please do create an account and get involved. You never know how much your story could help and inspire somebody.
- To get featured in a respected media outlet
So, there’s probably some kind of validation element to this. Getting picked up and featured by a respected media outlet would give me a sense that Sober Galaxy is beginning to get noticed. It would also bring Sober Galaxy to a larger audience, which I guess is one of the ultimate goals: to reach as many people as possible. This one’s slightly out of my hands – it’s not up to me who decides to pick up on, and publish a piece about this platform, but I’ll certainly be doing work to try and get featured on an established news site or channel. I see other communities and causes picked up on certain channels, and think how cool it is, and how amazing it would be for Sober Galaxy to get a chance to shine to a wider audience. If we get a chance to share this story on a TV or big YouTube channel then I’ll be very happy.
Writing down goals is something I’ve found useful for a long time.
It helps me process and view them as more tangible.
Do you ever write your goals down?
